Attached is a file with a series of test scenarios that may be of some use. There is a single infantry scenario that pits one infantry regiment against another, and 12 cannon scenarios, each with 1 section of a particular cannon/mortar against an infantry regiment.

Good deal. I want to conduct more range tests then play tests for this. In order to get the feel of
the battles dialed in faster. Once we have what we are calling good numbers in the Prefs then I
like to move over to play testing. I also want to look at the Cav charges again so that we can
see if they can get on the enemy before they are shot down.

I played through several turns of the infantry scen as CSA. It seemed that every shot killed at least one troop regardless of the range, both sides. Suppression was high. Hard to rally. (CSA side)
Is that the kind of feedback you are looking for?

Yes it is but I need to know what mech file you used and if you used the one I made what year you used.
Base moral is set in the Mech file and that plays a factor in it.
Also what were the settings in the Prefs? That really makes a difference.

I used the one in the mod dated 07/01/2007. The year is set in the scenario, 06/24/44

Edit: LC settings

when you say LC setting do you mean the ones in Jebs sig line or the or the ones from NA mod?

the way to tell the difference is what is your op fire set at? 150 is Jebs settings

The intention at this stage is to develop a set of Preferences that give the best combat "feel"...to do that, we're going to have to run tests with different settings and see how things come out. So, yes, Junk, that is what we're looking for, but we need more concrete data to work from. One of the simplest things is to use the combat log feature for a test run, and post the files for us to pull and review. Make sure you rename the combat.log file before running another test; the game overwrites that file each time you engage the logging mode.
