This post will contain a link to the latest version of the Mod file, as well as a list of changes that are made to it.

Download here ----> http://www.mediafire.com/download/3fnej ... D_v4.4.spm

Changes:
EDIT: This change is superseded now.1. Edited the Mech file, changed names of nations (Germany to CS Army, United Kingdom to US Navy, Finland to CS Navy, Soviet Union to Indian Tribe), and changed the header to read "The Blue and the Grey".
1a. Current countries used: #82 US Army is now CS Army, #70 Germany is now US Army, #77 United Kingdom is now CS Navy, #71 Finland is now US Navy, #81 Soviet Union is now Indian Tribe, and #83 USMC is now US Cavalry (post-war western battles).
EDIT: This change is superseded now.2. Added Marines and other support units (ammunition units, wagons, HQs, etc.) to the US and CS Navy OOBs.
2a. Marines and other support units removed from naval OOBs, returned to parent army OOBs.
3. Removed the "US" and "CS" designators for most units in the OOBs.
EDIT: This change is superseded now.4. Reworked most of the infantry Regimental formations to include an Ammo Bearer formation; this involved building "hidden" copies of the Regiment formations for use in the Brigade formation. These "hidden" formations are not available for player purchase, and can be identified by the * at the end of their names.
4a. Ammo Bearers with Ammunition are now attached directly to each regimental formation; all "hidden" formations removed. A single Ammo Bearer formation is left in the Misc. buy screen for additional use.
5. Weather Check formation added for PBEM games; this Almanac unit is classed as Air, so if available to buy, weather for the battle is good (less chance of pouring rain or blizzards).
6. Drastically revised artillery units and weaponry; new cannons added, improved weapon data (ranges, Accuracies, HE Kill numbers, etc.), updated availability dates for some units from new information, EDIT: This change is superseded now.separated ammo into single types (had been a Shot/Shell combo; units now have 2-4 weapons to choose from), reduced ammo loadouts to historical amounts (one limber chest worth), attached a Caisson unit to each Field Gun unit, Ammunition to each Siege Gun unit, per historical organization (ammo resupply will now be more important than before).
7. Changed Unit Class of most field guns to Infantry Gun; these units will not be capable of Indirect Fire (most could not elevate higher than 5 degrees), only Direct LOS fire. Howitzers were left as Howitzer-class, since these were designed for plunging fire, as were the various Mortar units; no changes to these.
8. Added PICS to all units in the basic ground OOBs (US Army, Confederate Army). Ones for the naval and Native American OOBs will be forthcoming.
New for v4
9. Reverted infantry to smaller crew sizes; 30-35 is now the high end, with most units being 20-30 men. This required revisions to the basic formations: Company formations are the basic "building block" now, with Regiments being composed of 3-4 Companies. All Brigade formations were removed.
10. Changed the "Brigade Commander" unit to a Mobile Emplacement type; unit will now improve morale and reduce suppression for units within its influence range. Three versions for each nation: Elite, Average, Green
11. Included Bombproofs, Hospital, Wounded, and Vittles/Baggage units. These units are very similar to those in the North Afrika Mod.
12. Full mod install now includes an updated OOB Editor and some text documents that list Icon Numbers, Sounds, and Artillery Ranges. These will all be installed to the root SPWAW directory.
13. Added Blockhouses. Units are fortifications.
EDIT: This change is superseded now.14. Change Gatling Guns to SP-Gun class, with appropriate icon.
14a. Gatling Gun units were reclassed to Anti-Tank Gun, so as to remove the Tracked movement rates.
15. Corrected flags for nations.
16. Revised and added LBMs, corrected some icons and SHP files.
New for v4.1
EDIT: This change is superseded now.17. Switched nations to ones that are less likely to cause problems with map sides and battle matchups. Union Army uses ComChina #9, Confederacy uses Philippines #16, Union Navy uses Nationalist Spain #19, Confederate Navy uses Republican Spain #20, and the Indians use Romania #73. And, due to the game being hard-wired to use Germany v. Russia by default in both the Editor and Battle Generator, I included 2 "Neutral" OOBs for these; without them, it was not possible to select a nation to use.
18. Additional units for blockhouses and a Root Cellar.
19. Added train units. 4 different car units, a locomotive and a caboose. Units are immobile, but may be edited during scenario sdesign to have movement. They are all classed using Wheel movement, so any designer looking to "restrict" these units' movement to the rails can use walls or other wheel-proof terrain.
20. Added smaller units for the post-War period, for use in Indian Wars battles.
21. Replaced Barbed Wire with Abatis.
22. Edited the Mech file and the OOB Editor to change some names, conforming to the OOBs and units.
23. Updated graphics for all units, including infantry and vehicles. Thanks Matt!
New for v4.3
NEW 24. Added 6th OOB to the mix: US Cavalry. Will be used along with US Army to depict western battles, Indian Wars and such. Added smaller units to US Army and CS Army post-war periods.
NEW 25. Set all OOBs to end the Civil War portion in December 1945; January 1946-1949 period is for Indian Wars and other post-war conflicts, with smaller units.
NEW 26. Edited the OOB Editor and changed a number of Unit Classes to better suit the units using the; for example, the Anti-Tank Gun class that the Gatling Gun is using now has been renamed "Gatling Gun".
NEW 27. Edited the Mech and made the same Unit Class name changes.
NEW 28. Further revisions to the artillery formations; attached dedicated limbers to each gun section. Renamed the Horse Team to Limber. Added 12pdr and 24pdr Boat Howitzers to the US Army; these were light naval guns landed with sailors and Marines, also used on launches and small craft.
NEW 29. Changes to the cavalry formations; detached the mounts for the Dismount formations and placed them into separate formations, for better C&C control.
NEW 30. Updated the Indian Tribe infantry icons, added a few more LBMs, and included some Amphib-classed Longboats and Canoes in the OOBs for use in non-River Crossing battles.
NEW 31. Major update to sounds, thanks to Matt. Weapons and movement sounds all new, background combat sounds and other effects. Also changed Smoke icons for a better "feel" to weapons firing.

Here is a Mech file for use in testing units. Please use this Mech file for all tests.

The File is set for a 75 experience for all units in all years

The Moral is adjustable from 70 to 90 in 5 point increments
by years starting in 1941 and going to 90 in 1945

The data we need from this mech is going to be used to make the final set of numbers
So we need data on how the experience works out and from there minor tweaks can
be made to get the correct effects. Test Elite and 2nd Line units too.
But focus on the Moral setting for now

For the Moral we will nail down the general range we want to be in and from there we can
consider how we want to fine tune it to get the right rally settings

So a game in each year that looks at similar units will give us a feel for what levels we need.
So we want to find the year that feels right. If you want to start in the middle use units from
1943 to get 80 Moral If you want more or less adjust from there. If you think we need to go
ALOT higher then 90 Moral remember there are units that add to this that can be bought.

Good Deal. Tried to just upgrade v3 by patching up to v4 did not work, The Mod.ini
was trying to load files that were not there. Caused error message.

Suggest you all just grab the full update spm file at the top of the first post in this
thread.

The mod.ini for v4 has all the LBM files included...if your v3 doesn't have them, that could be the problem. The only change to the v4 file was the name change.

Ok, new file posted above. Whole Mod file only: too many different changes and files to do a simple update.

Might I suggest we start using the V4.1 sort of thing so that we know for a fact we are using
a more current version. I already have two V4 mods of this thing.

Don't go to the trouble of redoing this one but maybe for future updates.
