Is there some central location which details how a program might be able to load up terrain files, map files, OOB files, etc? I'm doing a bit of research on how difficult it might be to try to do a handheld/mobile port.

Well. some place to start is good. I was hoping to cut to the chase with lists of files to deal with and some info about their formats, just to have something to code against.

It's really a shame steel panthers was never generalized to run everywhere. I really think that tablets may possibly be the future electronic board game vehicle of preference. Nothing should stop SP from running on most anything out there, even DS class hardware.

Look in the "chandla" folder, you find the programs that open nearly all the spwaw files..

That is a directory folder inside your SPWAW installation, not on this site.

Whyy don't you try the MATRIX Forums at www.matrixgames.com/forums/

What your requesting is for computer gurus and since it's a matrix game they should be able to guide you in the proper direction to get the answer to your question. Hope this helps.

I'm a little leery of that considering they are maintaining/selling the current windows game and want to try to keep this clean of any "ip" they may claim. My thoughts were that whoever made a full mod on top of the spwaw engine would possibly have access to the data I might like to have access to.

First, MATRIX does not sell SPwaw, it's free. Second they do sell Mega Campaigns. Their forums are full of onputs from Gamers such as you and I and even Alby when he's not modifying (Smile Alby your on BioCam). The info their is very good, anpther site for info is www.spwaw.com
